Government museum/Art GalleryThis museum is located near Kasturba Gandhi Road and is one of the oldest museums of the country, established in the year 1866. The building is a Neo-classical structure built with Corinthian columns. It has 18 sections which include a collection of jewelry, miniature paintings, sculptures and artifacts. It is a pleasant treat for art lovers.
The Venkatappa Art Gallery is a wing of this museum which has paintings related to the Mysore style. The gallery has about 600 paintings, which are on display throughout the year. On the ground floor, the paintings of K. Venkatappa, born in 1887 to a family of court painters, are on display. His works include a panoramic view of the Ooty Lake, view from Church Hill - Ooty, Nilgiri Mountains, Kodaikanal, and Sunrise in Ooty, a painting on Monsoon and various other sketches.
On the first floor, you can see the paintings of M. F. Hussain, Vasudev, Hanumaiah, Hariram, Rekha Rao, Yusuf Arakkal and N. S. Bendre along with various other renowned artists. On the same floor is a section dedicated to C. P. Rajaram's exquisite wood carvings.
The second floor is solely dedicated to K.K Hebbar - the "Hebbar Section". His paintings on the elements are titled Vayu, Jala, Prithivi, Sea Shore, In Space, Nagamandala, Agni, Last Glimpse and Death. It also includes numerous sketches labeled Japan, Bali village, Mother and so on.
Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) is a trade centre–cum-museum in the heart of the city of Bangalore. Its management comes under the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Government of India. It is the first trade centre of its kind in India. The Center has two exhibition floors housing a permanent display of all that is manufactured in Karnataka. The museum attracts close to one million visitors a year.
Each floor of the museum is dedicated to a scientific discipline. The Engine Hall exhibits used engines of various automobiles, machines used in industry, a jet aircraft engine, and other mechanical devices. The predictability and precision of mechanics is demonstrated by the rolling balls that travel endlessly within metal tracks without an external power source.
The Electro Technic Hall contains interactive electrical exhibits which work on the basic principles of electricity, electronics and communication. The Fun Science Hall exhibits the sciences of sound, optics, fluids and perception. The Space Hall is about rocket science and the history of space exploration. Biotechnology hall has exhibits on basics of Biotechnology and its applications. The Dinosaur Corner has a moving replica of a Spinosaurus.
The latest addition to the museum is BEL Hall of Electronics, with interesting exhibits on Electronics. 3D films are screened regularly in the 3D theatre. The museum also conducts a mini-planetarium show called 'Taramandal' at regular intervals. This is the only museum in the world other than the Smithsonoan in the US, to have a full scale replica of the 1903 flyer of Wright brothers.
Nehru PlanetariumJawaharlal Nehru Planetarium is situated in the heart of the city of Bangalore. It was founded in the year 1989. The regular shows of the planetarium are

based on various themes of astronomy- twinkling stars, meteoroids, comets, constellations, rotating solar system and other cosmic events. It provides knowledge to students and general mass about astronomical and cosmic events happening in the universe.
The lectures and shows on astronomy are regular features. The dome of the planetarium is 15 metres in diameter and has a seating capacity of 225 persons. It holds two shows on daily basis and conducts special shows for school children. The planetarium remains closed on Mondays and 2nd Tuesdays. Just opposite to Nehru Planetarium, a new attraction called "Musical Dancing Fountain" is a must to see while visiting the planetarium.
